Membership is open to all organisations (public, private and voluntary), who are interested in actively assisting in furthering the objectives of Humber and Wolds Rural Community Council (HWRCC).
- Each member organisation may appoint one person from time to time to represent it and vote on its behalf at the general meetings of RCC, but in the event of that person resigning or otherwise leaving the organisation, he/she immediately ceases to be such a representative.
- Each member organisation may appoint from time to time a named person to deputise if its representative is unable to attend any general meeting of RCC, but in the event of that person resigning or otherwise leaving the organisation, he/she immediately ceases to be such a representative.
- The Executive Committee shall have the power for good and sufficient reason to recommend to a general meeting of RCC that the membership of any organisation shall be terminated, provided that at least two thirds of the Executive Committee present at the relevant committee meeting vote in favour of making such a recommendation.
- The decision to terminate any membership of RCC shall rest exclusively with a General meeting of RCC and the organisation concerned (through its representative of deputy representative) shall have the right to be heard on the matter by the said general meeting if it chooses. Termination of membership shall only result if at least two thirds of the membership present and voting at the general meeting vote favour thereof.
The RCC fully supports the Principle of Equal Opportunities for All and will strive to ensure that no applicant for membership or representative as above shall receive less favourable treatment on grounds of age, gender, sexual orientation, marital status, disability, race, colour, nationality, ethnic origin, or political or religious persuasion and to ensure that no applicant or representative, which cannot be shown to be justified. The RCC shall apply this principle within its own organisation and in its relationship with other organisations and members of the public.
