"The resulting Community Led Plan forms a blueprint for use by Town/Parish Councils and other local bodies, as well as providing evidence for funding bids to enable the actions identified to be completed."
East Riding Broadband Update
1st July 2015
As part of a further £5.4m investment, a second phase of the programme has recently been announced which will see an additional 4,500 properties connected to superfast broadband by December 2017. BT has also been chosen to partner with East Riding of Yorkshire Council for the delivery of the second phase, following a procurement exercise through the Broadband Delivery UK (BDUK) National Procurement Framework.
The latest programme developments are available at www.broadband.eastriding.gov.uk. The website includes interactive maps of the phase 1 roll-out plans and a list of those areas which have been upgraded and are already ‘live’. Further updates will be posted onto the website as soon as they are available.
Broadband Business Connection Voucher Scheme Charities and small and medium sized businesses in the East Riding may be eligible for a voucher of up to £3,000 to help them connect to faster, better broadband, as part of the national Connection Voucher Scheme. However, this funding is limited and applicants are encouraged to apply quickly – please visit: -http://www.broadband.eastriding.gov.uk/businesssupport/connection-vouchers/ or https://www.connectionvouchers.co.uk/ for more information.

About the opportunity
As a volunteer surveyor, you will be positioned at locations around Flamborough Head and Filey Brigg throughout the busy tourist season. You will be recording any recreational activities you see, particularly noting whether the seabirds respond to human presence. You will be assigned 4 locations (which will need to be surveyed for one hour each) and we ask that volunteers commit at least one day a week to this project.
Are you passionate about protecting marine wildlife? Do you have a special interest in whales, dolphins, porpoises? Could you help us to learn more about Yorkshire’s cetacean populations by regularly carrying out surveys?
