Rural Partnership Plus - support for voluntary and community groups
HWRCC IS THE LEAD PARTNER IN THE DELIVERY OF THE SUB-REGIONAL RURAL PARTNERSHIP PLUS PROJECT
The Project is funded by The Big Lottery’s Building and Sustaining Infrastructure Services (BASIS) programme, which aims to ensure that voluntary and community sector organisations have access to high quality support that will help them be more effective. BASIS projects will achieve this through providing voluntary and community sector organisations (VCSOs) with access to - a range of resources, knowledge / information, opportunities to influence policy and strategy, up-skilling opportunities, and specialist support, for example financial management, governance, fundraising.
Rural Partnership Plus is one of three projects which run in the Humber sub-region (East Riding of Yorkshire, North and North East Lincolnshire). The project is delivered in partnership with VANL (Voluntary Action North Lincolnshire). The project aims to increase the support for rural (VCSOs), significantly improving the services available to them. The project also aims to improve representation of rural VCSOs and provide or strengthen mechanisms to ensure that local and regional policy and strategy reflects the identified priorities and needs. The project will be delivered in partnership with VANL (Voluntary Action North Lincolnshire) who employ the project's Development Worker, Celia Wangler, with HWRCC employing the Project Co-ordinator, Carole Johnson.
The Project works in liaison with four other BASIS funded projects, sub-regionally, regionally and nationally. Rural Partnership Plus will liaise with these projects as appropriate, providing referrals, sharing information and maximising promotion and marketing opportunities. The four BASIS projects are:
Sub-regionally:
• Fundraising Plus – run by Humber All Nations Alliance (HANA), in partnership with the four CVSs, providing funding advice and guidance in order to increase the sustainability of VCSOs.
• Money Matters Plus – run by the Community Economic Regeneration Team (CERT), improving the financial capacity of VCSOs through up-skilling financial expertise, providing access to software packages, and facilitating opportunities to engage with the business sector.
Regionally
• Regional Rural Network – run by Regional Forum, Humber & Wolds RCC and Rural Action Yorkshire, providing a comprehensive regional rural VCS voice to articulate and represent concerns, needs and priorities.
Nationally
• Rural infrastructure England – run by Action with Rural Communities England (ACRE), working to provide an effective and sustainable infrastructure for rural communities. (This project has been running since 2007).
