Transport Solutions

Transport Solutions is a community vehicle brokerage service based in North Lincolnshire. It has access to 12 community vehicles that it can make available for use by:

local community groups
local charities
local clubs and societies
groups and individuals requiring accessible transport

Vehicles available for use

The vehicles in the brokerage are borrowed from local community groups and organisations, that make their vehicles available to Transport Solutions, at times when they would otherwise be standing idle.

Drivers

Vehicles are provided with a voluntary driver. All drivers are CRB checked and hold a valid Midas (Minibus Driver Awareness Scheme) certificate.

Membership

Anyone using a vehicle through the brokerage has to register as a member of Transport Solutions. The following one-off membership fees are charged:

Group membership £10
Individual member £5

Charges

With effect from 1st January 2009 the mileage rate for minibus will be charged at 30p/mile for organisations and 39p/mile for the first 50 miles then 25p/mile thereafter for individual users.

A revised booking fee for bookings already received for journeys after 1st January 2009 and all new bookings after this date will be as follows-:

Our current 10 & 11 seater minibus’s the revised fixed rate will be £25 for organisations and £3 for individual users excluding volunteer driver expenses.

16 seater minibuses the revised rate will be £40 for organisations excluding volunteer driver expenses.

14 seater minibus the new rate will be £35 for organisations excluding volunteer driver expenses.

Membership is now renewable annually at a charge of £10 per organisation and £5 per individual

Humber & Wolds Rural Community Council can provide the following transport related training for groups and individuals.

Midas Training (Minibus Driver Awareness Scheme)

This is a nationally recognised training scheme that helps to improve minibus safety by enhancing the driving and passenger awareness skills of minibus drivers. It covers both legal and practical issues associated with driving minibuses with up to 16 passenger seats.

HWRCC has two qualified Driver Assessor Trainers who can deliver Midas training. We can provide:

Accessible & Standard training
Refresher training for Midas trained drivers whose certificates are about to expire

Fire Evacuation Training.

This half day course teaches minibus drivers and passenger escorts how to safely evacuate passengers from their vehicles in the event of them catching fire. HWRCC has a qualified fire evacuation trainer, who can deliver the training.

Passenger Assistant Training

This training aims to improve passenger safety by providing skills and information for passenger assistants to enable them to understand and meet the needs of their passengers. It covers legal, practical and safety issues. HWRCC has a qualified PATs trainer, who can deliver this training.
