Many over-65s in England 'rarely use public transport'
22nd June 2015
The report says millions of older people are faced with travel problems.
More than half of over-65s either never use public transport or use it less than once a month, despite being eligible for free bus travel, according to the report.
Age UK said the transport system was not currently meeting the needs of the growing ageing population.
The report also claims it is the oldest, those in poor health and those living in rural areas who are let down the most by public transport.

About the opportunity
As a volunteer surveyor, you will be positioned at locations around Flamborough Head and Filey Brigg throughout the busy tourist season. You will be recording any recreational activities you see, particularly noting whether the seabirds respond to human presence. You will be assigned 4 locations (which will need to be surveyed for one hour each) and we ask that volunteers commit at least one day a week to this project.
Are you passionate about protecting marine wildlife? Do you have a special interest in whales, dolphins, porpoises? Could you help us to learn more about Yorkshire’s cetacean populations by regularly carrying out surveys?
