East Riding Broadband Update

1st July 2015

Superfast broadband is being rolled out to more than 42,000 homes and businesses in the East Riding of Yorkshire by December 2015, as a result of a multi-million partnership between East Riding of Yorkshire Council and BT. The roll-out has so far made superfast broadband available to more than 38,000 homes and businesses, in addition to properties reached by commercial broadband investments.

UK dwellers can now check mobile, broadband and TV coverage using Ofcom’s new interactive tool

Alongside updating its Market Infrastructure Report and making recommendations for improving connectivity and troubled ‘not-spots’, Ofcom has today launched an interactive tool that allows people to check fixed broadband, mobile, TV, and radio coverage across the UK

ACRE Campaign for Broadband funding for isolated rural communities

9th February 2015

The next Government is being urged to invest in alternative solutions for the isolated rural communities left behind by the national rollout of superfast broadband by BDUK. Humber & Wolds Rural Community Council (HWRCC) is backing a call by its national body ACRE (Action with Communities in Rural England) for a firm funding commitment in its 2015 manifesto to support the final 5% not covered by the programme.

Superfast Broadband is expanding in East Yorkshire

Broadband East Riding aims to extend the availability of superfast broadband greater than 24Mbps across the East Riding of Yorkshire Broadband East Riding is a £14 million partnership between the council and BT. It is funded by grants from Broadband Delivery UK (BDUK), £5.5m, and The European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), £4.4m, along with investment from BT and the council.

East Riding of Yorkshire non-emergency medical transport provider announced

NHS East Riding of Yorkshire Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) is pleased to announce that following a rigorous procurement process Yorkshire Ambulance Service NHS Trust (YAS) has been awarded a new five-year contract to continue running non-emergency medical transport services (previously referred to as patient transport service) across the East Riding of Yorkshire.

Where to go over the Easter weekend
