The Rural Network provides an opportunity for voluntary and community sector groups to have their needs and priorities reflected in local and regional policies and strategies.

Through the Network, groups can be actively involved in influencing decision by having their say on issues that affect their group at a local, regional and national level.

Network members will benefit from the following:

  • Access to support services tailored to their groups needs, for example, financial management, funding, training, etc.
  • A mechanism to have your issues heard to influence change
  • Online discussion forum
  • Opportunity to input into local and national consultations
  • E-news, Yorkshire and Humber Bulletin
  • Free Information and network events, providing up to date information on changes that could affect the VCSOs and an opportunity to meet with people from other groups to share ideas and resources

TAKING YOUR ISSUES FORWARD

Locally – The Network Coordinators based in the East Riding of Yorkshire and Northern Lincolnshire will ensure your issues are heard by key policy makers at a local level, such as, East Riding and Northern Lincolnshire Rural Partnerships, Local Strategic Partnerships and Voluntary Sector Representatives. Through our regional project partner, we are able to address issues at a national level.

Nationally – The Yorkshire and Humber Coordinator addresses your issues at national level, taking forward your issues to national bodies, such as, Rural Affairs Forum, Action for Communities in Rural England (ACRE), MP’s and Government departments who deal with rural Affairs. An effective framework has been established that ensures your voice is heard!
