Big Energy Saving Week event

15th January 2019

The event is being hosted by the Carer's Support Centre in Brigg, for Carer who are affliated to the organisation. The event is designed to help reduce energy bills through a range of simple measures, which can and do make a difference.

In addition, members will also be able to get 1 to 1 advice on Switch Energy Suppliers and fuel debt. Both of these issues can help to solve Carers financial concerns about their energy bills.

Those attending the event will receive a resource pack , with a range of information on energy related matters, including Top Tips for saving energy, Warms Homes Discount and Priority Service Register information, How to stay warm in your home this winter.

Every winter a high number of people live in cold homes which they find too expensive to heat. This can lead to increases in illness and unfortunately a number of these individuals will not survive the winter months, adding to the statistics for excess winter deaths. Often by very simple cahnages in lifestyle, people can reduce their fuels costs, without having to spend a lot of money. This event is designed to help those in this situation and I hope that any carer who feels that they fit this desciption will come along and attend.

If you are a carer and live in northern Lincolnshire, you can contact the Carer's Support Centre in Brigg by ringing 01652 650585

Recreational Activity Surveyor

About the opportunity As a volunteer surveyor, you will be positioned at locations around Flamborough Head and Filey Brigg throughout the busy tourist season. You will be recording any recreational activities you see, particularly noting whether the seabirds respond to human presence. You will be assigned 4 locations (which will need to be surveyed for one hour each) and we ask that volunteers commit at least one day a week to this project.
