Village Veg

HWRCC's Village Veg project is encouraging and helping people of all ages and abilities to grow their own vegetables, saving them money, improving their health, creating community outdoor activities, and much more...

HWRCC launched the Village Veg project in March 2014 in the East Yorkshire villages of Melbourne, Wilberfoss, Barmby Moor and Sutton upon Derwent, with invitations to participate extending to hamlets surrounding these villages. Through the project residents are learning how to grow a variety of vegetables, many of which are growing for the very first time.

Ask Our Experienced Growers

We understand that many of our growers will need help in growing quality produce, so our 'Experienced Growers' will be on-hand to provide advice throughout the season!

If you are a resident of one of these villages and have registered to take part in the 'Village Veg' learning initiative, send your questions to our Experienced Growers below.

Answers to questions already asked by other growers can be viewed by downloading our 'Frequently Asked Questions'.
