Bright Green Future is a free training programme for 14-17 year olds who are interested in the environment. Through Bright Green Future, you'll gain experience and meet like-minded people. And you can start to influence how decisions are made on the environment, energy and climate change.

The year long programme aims to give you the tools to make a change.

We'll help you find a work placement in the environmental sector

We'll help you run a local environmental project in your community

A four day residential summer school

Bright Green Future is managed by the Centre for Sustainable Energy and is part of a Big Lottery funded project called Our Bright Future, aimed at empowering young people to lead progressive change in their communities and local environment.

Covid19 likely to have a negative impact on the delivery of affordable rural housing

A fall in property prices as a consequence of Covid19 could reduce the number of affordable homes that get built in the countryside whilst larger, more inappropriate development could get the go-ahead warns charity, Action with Communities in Rural England (ACRE).W We know that many rural communities are supportive of small-scale housing schemes that are sensitive to the look and feel of the local area and which create homes that are affordable to local residents. But the fallout from Covid19 could up-end the viability of such schemes.
