Invitation to NHS East Riding of Yorkshire CCG Annual General Meeting

We would like to extend a warm welcome for you to come along to our 2019 Annual General Meeting (AGM) which will take place next month.

This year we are holding the event at the Courtyard, Goole on Tuesday 17 September. The meeting will start at 5pm, with registration from 4.30pm, and is expected to close by 7pm.

When NHS England published their annual assessment of CCGs for 2018/19 last month we were delighted to be awarded a ‘Good’ rating for the second year running. During the AGM we will look back at some of our key achievements and highlights during this year, and also hear about some of the current projects we are working on with our colleagues and partners.

The NHS Long Term Plan was published earlier this year, which sets out how the NHS will develop across England over the next 10 years. Our AGM will provide us the opportunity to look at what we can expect to see from health services in the future across the East Riding of Yorkshire.

As usual, the AGM will see us discuss our financial performance from 2018/19, where we achieved our financial plan for the year. We will look at how and where our budget has been spent. The AGM will finish with a question and answers session, giving colleagues, partners and the general public their chance to put forward a question to our senior team. To help us to answer as many questions as possible, and to avoid repetition, we will be taking questions in advance; however we will open the session up to the room for a few final questions, time permitting.

If you are planning on attending and would like to submit a question in advance, please email it to

Hard copies of our 2018/19 Annual Report and Accounts will be available on the day; this can also be found on our website at We very much hope you can join us to reflect on a successful year for the CCG, and also look to the future challenges ahead. Please get in touch if you have any special requirements.

Recognition award for vaccination uptake amongst care sector staff across the North of England You can help us to help you and the people you care for

In the North of England, NHS England and NHS Improvement and Public Health England have come together to set up an award scheme to recognise the efforts made by the care sector, care homes, hospices and domiciliary care providers, who have achieved a high level of flu vaccine uptake for their staff. This scheme is being implemented following a successful pilot scheme that ran during the last flu season (2018-19). The award includes all health and social care staff who are directly involved in the care of vulnerable patients/clients who are at increased risk from exposure to influenza. Vulnerable means those patients /clients in a clinical risk group for flu, or who are aged 65 years or over and is intended to complement any existing local initiatives. The flu jab helps to protect you from catching flu and it also reduces the risk of you passing the virus on to the people you care for. There is an increased risk of them catching flu because of their long-term condition or disability, and they could develop complications and become seriously ill as a result.
