We started Loneliness Awareness Week (LAW) 4 years ago to raise awareness of loneliness and encourage people to speak about it openly. It’s a powerful message that resonates with many and each year LAW receives more and more attention.
Last year 800 events took place and on our campaign launch day, conversations about loneliness were taking place every 5 seconds.

A fall in property prices as a consequence of Covid19 could reduce the number of affordable homes that get built in the countryside whilst larger, more inappropriate development could get the go-ahead warns charity, Action with Communities in Rural England (ACRE).W We know that many rural communities are supportive of small-scale housing schemes that are sensitive to the look and feel of the local area and which create homes that are affordable to local residents. But the fallout from Covid19 could up-end the viability of such schemes.
Rural Housing Week is an annual celebration of rural housing when organisations work with external stakeholders to reinforce the message that housing is vital for the survival of rural communities and services.
