Village Halls provide a very importnat focal point for their village but in order for them to be successful they need a thriving management committee to ensure that the Hall provide a warm and welcoming environment that outside groups and individuals will want to use.

Humber & Wolds RCC has had a dedicated Village Halls Advisory Officer for all its 41 years. Carole Johnson, the present incumbent, is able to offer advice and support at the end of a telephone.

In East Yorkshire we have two Village Hall Networks, in Holderness and The rest of East Yorkshire. In addition there is the East Riding Association of Rural Community Buildings which although formed by HWRCC, is now  stand alone organisation. To learn more about the above , please talk to Carole.

Village Halls

** Do you help run a village or community hall? ** This is IMPORTANT if you do! ACRE is responsible for writing everyday hiring agreements, licensing, working with MPs and more. Our 2009 survey helped secure 3m in funding for Village Halls and we know you need more. If you have some spare time this weekend, please take some time to complete our National Village and Community Halls Survey. You've only got until the 31st March and every answer will help us make sure hall trustees get the best advice and service we can give as well as the power to drive positive change. https://acre.org.uk/our-work/national-village-and-community-hall-survey
