What we are doing to support local groups
From Thursday 26th March we started making grants to groups to support vulnerable people across North & East Yorkshire. To apply click here
We are asking donors and fund holders to help address current needs & so far have secured over £700,000 of funds. Thank you.
We are the local delivery partner in Hull, East Riding, North Yorkshire & York for the National Emergencies Trust which made its first allocation of funds to us on 27th March. So far NET has raised £12.5m & more will follow. NET & many national charity leaders are lobbying Government for significant public funds to align with the philanthropic response.
We have launched a local appeal for people who want all their donations to be spent locally in Hull, East Riding, North Yorkshire & York. To Donate click here
Our initial support via grants to groups will be for the following:
Immediate response to give help to the people who need it the most - key priorities are older & vulnerable isolated at home, community hubs, crisis support for rough sleepers & food for children
The development of advice and support initiatives to fill gaps for people and places where there are no current suitable services
Once we understand the funds available and demand we do want to support groups that provide vital community support to maintain some level of viability through these uncertain times where they are experiencing a significant loss of income as a result of the current crisis.
Standing shoulder to shoulder with communities across
North and East Yorkshire.
