LincsFibre - Fibre Optic Broadband for the home

28th November 2017

LincsFibre ia a local community scheme for Fibre Optic Broadband. Owned by local people, built by local people, run by local people, for the benefit of local people.

There are individuals and businesses within your community that have many of the required skills, experience, tools and equipment that is required to install and maintain the network. We would like to hope that they would come forward and help and indeed, it is only with this help that this scheme can be viable.

Whilst the main infrastructure will be coordinated and overseen by LincsFibre, in order to keep the build costs down, we are asking that the homeowner either installs themselves or arranges to have intsalled their own duct from the property boundary to the house.

At present cable broadband outside of your village and any distance within the village is slow at best or non-existent at worst. The proposed scheme is to install fibre optic cable direct to the home thereby avoiding signal loss leading to loss of speed.

With speeds 15 times faster than anything that is currently on offer in the village! The speed will be the speed that will be achieved by the end user within their home. It will not be affected by how far you are away from the cabinet and is not an 'up to' speed.

There is also the option to do away with your existing 'land line' phone line by using your broadband line and Voice over Internet Procotol (VOIP).

We are looking for interest in this scheme and are asking people to log their interest either online or on paper. We are also asking if anyone has any skills, tools, equipment or would be willing to help with the scheme to let us know.

Please email info@LincsFibre.co.uk with any questions you may have & visit the website at www.LincsFibre.co.uk which has lots of information, photos and videos.
