Peter has worked for HWRCC since 2004 as a Community Development Coordinator and his main project work promotes and provides support for communities who are looking to provide Affordable Housing to residents in housing need in their community. Community-Led Housing aims to solve local housing problems, create affordable homes and establish and encourage strong communities. Peter is an Accredited CLH Advisor working with the North Yorkshire & East Riding Community-Led Housing Hub.
Peter also gives Energy Efficiency advice to rural communities that do not have access to mains gas and helps to combat Fuel Poverty in these settlements. He also helps to produce Energy Audits for Village Halls.
Peter is the Coordinator of the two Bulk Oil Buying Groups run by HWRA. In East Yorkshire, the YORSwitch Bulk Oil Buying Scheme and the North & North East Lincolnshire Bulk Oil Buying Scheme offers residents in each county the opportunity to reduce the cost of their heating through Bulk purchasing.
Peter's work supporting Neighbourhood Planning Groups or completing a Community Review in the Humber area concentrates on community engagement, to record the view of residents on a range of topics and analysis of survey results.
Peter works with the parishes in South East Holderness, looking at issues of common concern and finding ways for the Group to resolves these issues with outside stakeholders. The group meets quarterly to discuss their issues.
