Volunteering opportunities for young people

Young people can increase their life skills by engaging in volunteering opportunities. For some, volunteering can be a route to employment, or a chance to try something new.

The Volunteen programme is a project from East Riding Voluntary Action Services (ERVAS). It aims to help all of our young people to increase life skills by engaging them in enjoyable and helpful social activities.  Volunteen will work with Secondary Schools, as well as a wide mixture  of groups from the voluntary, statutory and private sector.  The aim is to ensure that all young people in the East Riding of Yorkshire have the chance to benefit from volunteering.  Please visit the ERVAS website for further information.

The VYPER scheme is a reward recognition scheme for young people in school years 7 to 11, who are involved in any type of volunteering within schools, clubs, groups or other organisations within their community.  Get recognised for your volunteering without affecting your studies or anything else you currently do and show future employers, colleges or universities YOUR volunteering achievements!  Please visit the ERVAS website for further information.

vInspired is the nation's leading youth volunteering charity.  They have created more than one million volunteering opportunities and, so far, over 150,000 young people have used vInspired.com to volunteer with more than 3,600 charities.  Please visit their website for further information.
